FREE whale watching, now that’s what I’m talking about!

It’s that time of the year again – the Humpback whales have made their annual migration north and are slowly returning south. What better place to enjoy this than the Woolgoolga Headland. Spectacular 250 degree views of our coastline with no boat journey which means no getting wet.  Read about these amazing creatures on the National Parks information signs posted around the viewing area. Just sit back and relax ( in your own car if you choose) and enjoy the spectacle. Best of all there is no charge to witness this.

An estimated 10000 whales pass by here every year heading north to warmer waters to birth their calves only to return within a couple of months. The return journey is an education lesson in itself. The mothers and their calves enjoy putting on amazing displays in aqua aerobics, Humpback style.

After an amazing win at the state awards, Safety Beach Ocean Bungalows has taken out the People’s Choice award  for the Pet Friendly Accommodation category in the third annual TakeABreak.com.au Awards.

The awards recognise properties who have provided outstanding product and exceptional service in their individual categories.  They are selected from over 13,000 properties. This has been an excellent achievement for us, which we are totally blown away by. Thank you to all our fantastic guests who have supported us during the last year.
